The Cumberland Valley Corvette Club was founded in 1965 and is based in Carlisle, PA, home of Corvettes @ Carlisle.
CVCC has one of the largest memberships in the East Region. Current
membership exceeds 200 Corvette entusiasts who collectively own nearly every
model and year of Corvette ever manufactured.
As a large organization, the interests of our members are very
diverse, and the events on CVCC’s calendar demonstrate that
diversity. CVCC is an NCCC-affiliated
club that sponsors no less than seven competitions every year open to all CVCC
and NCCC members. These competitive events include an autocross (AutoX),
show (Concours), funkhana (hard to explain), rallying (Rallye), drag racing (not
lately), and high speed timed runs. This year the club will sponsor one or
more AutoX, Concours, Rallye, and High Speed Event (as part of the National
Convention).
Annually CVCC conducts a driving school on a combined road course and high bank
turn at the Pocono International Speedway. This event affords the entrants the opportunity to experience the thrill
of driving their Vettes the way they were meant to be driven, but under the
control of certified instructors.
The competitive nature of CVCC’s
members has paid dividends for the club. For
the past four out of five years, the Cumberland Valley Corvette Club has finished 1st
in the points standings for the East Region.
Although we take pride in that accomplishment, the biggest joy
experienced by our members is the opportunity to meet people from other clubs and
regions who share the same interests. The
competition is always good-natured, and many friendships have been formed as a
result of it.
In addition to the competitive events mentioned above, CVCC holds many
social events during the year. We
have two or three fun cruises each year, a yearly picnic and fun rally, a holiday
banquet, and an annual club awards banquet.
Throw in a few overnight trips here and there, and you can see that we
love to have fun too!
Like most Corvette Clubs, CVCC has a relationship with a number of local
and national charities. We are
strong supporters of the Central Pa Chapter of Spina Bifada.
All monies
earned from parades and football homecomings are donated to that worthy cause.
Yes, we like to show off our cars in parades and at football games.
