CVCC Monthly Meeting

May 1st, 2008  

The meeting was called to order by President, J. Priestner.

After the corrections to the April minutes were noted by Marlin, D. Walter made a motion to accept the minutes as corrected and seconded by G. Miller.

Treasurers Report was given by G. Miller. A motion to accept the report was made by R. Wolf and seconded by S. Walter.

Governors Report was given by Dave.

Dave went over the various upcoming events both NCCC and local. ( Please see the clubs web page or the events calendar in newsletter for more details).

 

Vice Presidents Report: Was given by Bob

Bob expressed that if you did not sign-up on the attendance sheet at the Pocono‘s, to please let him know so that you will get credit and any reimbursement that may be due to you. Thank you.

Second Reading: Harry Baker from Mechanicsburg, sponsored by T. Mitchell

A motion was made by J. Bower and seconded by J. Ludt to accept Harry into the club. Motion carried.

Awards Banquet:

Thank you to the Grove's for a great banquet and everyone had a great time. Additional a wards were presented at the meeting to those who did not attend the banquet.

Dyno Day: J. Fusco reported that everyone who participated were happy with their results.

Another day will be planned for later this year or early in 2009.

Pocono Weekend Report: Jack praised the members for a unbelievable job that was done. There was great weather, nothing but good comments were received and the club was praised for the #1 thing, professionalism that was exhibited by everyone.

May 3, 2008: Young Eagle Flight Party - For persons with special needs - 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

B. Bowen stated that plane rides are given and also rides in the Corvettes. Meet at Bob Evans, New Cumberland at 8:30 am for breakfast Cruise over to airport by 10:00 for the day.

June 14, 2008: Dave Grey from Central Penn Corvette Club extended a invitation to CVCC to attend their 22nd Annual Fun Show to be held at Click Lewis, Main Street in Palmyra. The time will be 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Click Lewis is very excited about this show as he is a Corvette enthusiast, that he has sent out 10,000 flyers to his customers. Donations from the event will be going to the American Cancer Society. He also commented how much that he and his son enjoyed our event at the Pocono’s and how great a job the club did and the friendliness of the club.

May 3 & 4, 2008: D. Walter went over the Hershey Hill Climb.

June 1, 2008: (Please note the date change) K. Priestner reported that the Third Annual Gettysburg Rallye through the Battlefield will take place. A driver and navigator are given a set of directions and questions to find the answers ending up at The Appalachian Brewing Company for lunch. The club will meet at Ruby Tuesdays at 10:00 am and leave from there.

June 15, 2008: Big Spring Double AutoX. G. Wolf would like to set up the night before. He will have more On this event at the June meeting.

July 11, 2008: This will be the clubs annual picnic meeting night. This is scheduled for a Friday evening this year so that everyone can party and enjoy themselves.

July 19, 2008: Graham Motors Fun Show. Marlin reported that this will be a judged Corvette show as well as a Classic Street Car Show. He is in need of Auction items from businesses and would appreciate the membership working together to get these auction items. The money earned from this show will again go to the Home Visitation Nurses Service of the Elks Lodge. More details to follow.

August 2, 2008: Mini Grand Prix to be held in Elizabethtown. C. Strayer reported that he will be in need of about 30 members to help. More details to follow.

August 22 - 24, 2008: Corvettes at Carlisle. D. Walter reported that Red, White and Blue Corvettes are being requested for the parade. More information to follow.

NEW BUSINESS:

B. Bowen reported that it had originally been decided that the club would take $1,000 from the money that had been earned from Homecomings and parades and give of that money to the Young Eagle Flight Party. A motions was made by J. Glatfelter and seconded by D. Walter.

R. Wable thanked the club for the flowers and many cards and phone calls that she received.

R. Wolf reported that a Black Jacket was found at the Pocono’s and if it belonged to anyone, to let him know.

J. Ludt reported that she had club shirts and a tote bag for sale.

K. Priestner reported that she had Recipe Books for sale to benefit the Autism Group.

A motion to adjourn was made by everyone.

CVCC Board Meeting  

May 20th, 2008  

The board met at the Hoss’s  Steak and Seafood in Machanicsburg.  B. Bowen opened the meeting in Jack’s absence.

Old Business:

May 30th  Yellow Breeches Outing, M. Newman and J. Newman chairpersons.

May 31st Gettysburg Rallye

June 15th Big Spring Double AutoX. 

July 3rd  Carlisle Summer Fair Parade.   

               We have been invited to participate again this year.  We will meet in the Weis Store parking lot between 5:45 and 6:15 P.M. and go as a group to our staging area.  No need to sign up just show up if you would like to attend.  If you would like to decorate your car for the parade you may do so.  We ARE NOT allowed to bring candy to throw to the children.  So please abide by the Parade rules.

J. Ludt is chairing this event.

FRIDAY July 11th is the club picnic meeting at Mike & Elaine’s.  Please bring a covered dish to share and your lawn chairs.

July 19th is the Graham double sanctioned Car Show.  This show also includes the Classic Cars.  Marlin & Skip Gutshall are chairing this event and are asking for members to please get donations for the silent auction.

August 2nd Mini Grand Prix at the Masonic Homes in Elizabethtown.  C. Strayer is chairperson.

October 11th is the date for the Lawrence Chevrolet Show.  D. Walter and J. McKinney are chairpersons.

New Business:

J. Fusco in interested in chairing a drag race event at the Quarter Aces Dragway.  More discussion at the next monthly meeting.

Dave and Sally will be having their annual pool party August 3rd.  This is a Sunday and the only date they had open.  Everyone is to bring a covered dish and chairs to this event also.

Bass Pro Shop is having a cruise-in on July 19th which is the same day as the Graham car show.  This will start around 3:00 in the afternoon and will benefit the Diabetes Association.  If interested we could go as a group after the car show.
