CVCC Monthly Meeting

March 6th, 2008  

The meeting was called to order by B. Bowen, in the absence of Jack.

Meeting Minutes With no additions or corrections, a motion by L. Kiser and seconded by Rita was made to accept February’s meeting minutes

Treasurer’s Report  was given by Gary Miller. A motion to accept the report was made by H. Shenk and seconded by J. Bower.

Governors Report  was given by Dave.

Dave went over the various upcoming events both NCCC and local. ( Please see the clubs web page or the events calendar in newsletter).

Pocono Driving School is filled and there is a waiting list at this time.

Vice President’s Report  was given by B. Bowen.

Birthdays for March:      5       D. Paden 

                                                      B. Grove

Cruisers and Waxers Report:    No Report.

Speed Event’s Report was given by S. Gutshall.

The first event is scheduled for June 8th with practice on June 5th.  Watch website for more dates.

Awards Banquet:

B. Grove reported that door prizes are needed. If you have anything to donate or can get a door prize, please let him know.

Pocono Weekend Report: G. Miller and M. Ludt asked for volunteers to help. A sign-up sheet is being pass throughout the meeting. Anyone wanting to stay overnight can call the Ramada Inn at 1-800-251-2610 at $89.00 a night. Check out the website for more information.

This is the clubs number one fund raiser for the year and they would like to see more participation.

Dyno Day: J. Fusco announced that March 8th is reserved for CVCC if anyone is interested. The cost to have your car done is $50.00. If interested, please see Jim.

New Members Meeting: To be held on Thursday, April 3rd at 6:00 pm before our regular April club meeting.

Mini Grand Prix: C. Strayer announced that the date will be August 2nd, to be held at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. Watch for more information.

Newsletter: If you have an event or function that you are planning, please plan ahead and get the information to the Newsletter Editor ahead of time in order to (1) Announce the Event, (2) for members to plan ahead (3) so that you can get a good turnout from the members.

A good time line to begin announcing in the newsletter is no less than three (3) months prior to the event.

A motion to adjourn was made by everyone.

CVCC Board Meeting

  March 18th, 2008  

The board met at the TJ Rockwells, Mechanicsburg, with President J. Priestner opening the meeting.

Awards Banquet: B. Grove reported that most everything finalized, and members can still sign up at the club’s April meeting. DOORPRIZES ARE STILL NEEDED.

Pocono: Dave said that 21 have registered. MORE HELP WOULD BE WELCOME.

York County CC is having an AutoX at the Carlisle Fairgrounds on April 5 and would like to use CVCC’s equipment. Again, HELP would be welcomed.

Bass Pro Simulator: Mike said that 18 have signed up for this event for March 30th.

N.C.C.C. Events Scheduled: Please check the clubs website as well as the happenings calendar.

Power Wench for Sale: The board discussed the sale of the winch. It was decided to accept sealed bids. They have also set a minimun bid they would like to accept.

Corvette America: S. Gutshall is working on a cruise. This is located in the Bolsburg/Lewistown area.

There is a winery and brewery that we could also stop at plus have an ice cream stop. Watch for more details.

Graham Classic Car Show: M. Ludt reported that July 19 has been set for this Double Sanctioned Fun Classic car show. He would like to schedule a ‘judging class’ for those interested. More details to follow.

Club Trailer: Jack thanked everyone who help with the cleaning. The trailer looks so “beautiful”. M. Ludt aid that he had the fire extinguisher checked out. He refilled the good ones and replaced the bad ones.

Club Membership: A discussion followed concerning the clubs membership information. Currently there seems that we do not have complete and correct information on our membership. E. Ludt has been trying to keep this updated but some information still seems to fall ‘thru the cracks’.

It is each member’s responsibility to keep her informed of any changes to your home address, phone numbers or e-mail address so that she can keep the necessary records updated.

Spring Carlisle: Dave reported that CVCC’s locations have been moved. Their new location is I - J, 85 - 88.

Comedy Show and Dinner: Everyone “thanked” Gary for a really fun evening.
