CVCC Monthly Meeting

February 7th, 2008  

The meeting was called to order by J. Priestner, with a moment of silence.

Corrections to the January meeting minutes were to change the names of the workers' chairpersons at Pocono from G. Wolf and M. Ludt to G. Miller and M Ludt.  Motion to accept the minutes was made by G. Miller and seconded by M. Breen.

Treasurer's Report was given by G. Miller.  Motion to accept the report was made by M. Baldwin and seconded by D. Puerzer.

Governor's Report was given by D. Walter.

One NCCC Sanctioned event was held so far this year at the Central Pennsylvania Auto Show Concours, Pa. State Farm Show Complex, Harrisburg. There were 12 members who attended with 9 Corvettes.

D. Walter went over the various upcoming events both NCCC and local. ( Please see the clubs web page or the events calendar in newsletter).

Vice President's Report was given by B. Bowen.

Second Reading: Keith Hite, sponsored by D. Walter.

Motion to accept Keith into CVCC was made by D. Walter, seconded by S. Gutshall.

Cruisers and Waxers Report was given by G. Andreas.

He announced the awards from the Auto Show held at the Farm Show Building.

He also announced a bowing challenge on March 29, by York County Corvette Club.

Speed Events was given by S. Gutshall.

The first event is scheduled for June 8th with practice on June 5th. Watch website for more dates.

Holiday Party Rap-Up :

President, J. Priestner felt that the evening was a success. The food was great, the entertainment was wonderful, but he had to meet up with one of Mt. Holly’s finest

and it was not for tickets to their Policemen’s ball!

Awards Banquet:

B. Grove reported that the meals would be the same as last year and at a little lower cost.

The cost is $25.00 for Surf & Turf, $15.00 for a Steak Filet and $10.00 for Stuffed Chicken Breast. Look for more information in the newsletter and on the web site. Jack reminded everyone that the Awards banquet is all about the club and to give recognition to those that work hard during the year.

Pocono Weekend Report: G. Miller and M. Ludt asked for volunteers to help. A sign-up sheet is being pass throughout the meeting. Anyone wanting to stay overnight, can call the Ramada Inn at 1-800-251-2610 at $89.00 a night. Check out the website for more information.

This is the club's number one fund raiser for the year and they would like to see more participation.

Corvette Museum: D. Walter announced that if anyone is interested in going to the Corvette Museum, there are six (6) tickets available from the donation that CVCC made to them. These will be on a first-come, first-serve basis unless there is a lot interested and then the club would have a drawing for them.

Dyno Day: J. Fusco announced that March 8th is reserved for CVCC if anyone is interested. The cost to have your car done is $50.00. If interested, please see him.

New Members Meeting: To be held on Thursday, April 3rd at 6:00 pm before our regular April club meeting.

 

Mini Grand Prix: C. Strayer announced that the date will be August 2nd, to be held at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. Watch for more information.

Newsletter: If you have a event or function that you are planning, please plan ahead and get the information to the Newsletter Editor ahead of time in order to (1) Announce the Event, (2) for members to plan ahead (3) so that you can get a good turnout from the members.

A good time line to begin announcing in the newsletter is no less than three (3) months prior to the event.

CVCC Board Meeting

  February 19th, 2008  

The board met at the Alibies Eatery & Spirits in Carlisle, President J. Priestner opened the meeting.

Awards Banquet: A discussion and planning followed. Jack wants the club membership realize that this banquet is for the members and to recognize them for all that they have done for the club in the past year. He hopes that every member will plan to attend and see what it is all about. Door prizes are also needed for the evening.

Pocono: Dave reported that the event is sold out, but would like to see about 20 more students attend or have persons to run with the students. If you are interested, please see Dave.

N.C.C.C. Events Scheduled: Please check the clubs website as well as the happenings calendar.

Power Wench for Sale: The club has a wench for sale. There will be bids accepted and the highest bidder will be able to purchase. No other information was given on the age, etc.

Club Trailer: March 1st has been designated as a work day for the clubs trailer. The trailer is very much in need of housekeeping as well as organizing its contents. Anyone interested in helping can let Mike Ludt know or show up for breakfast at 8:00 am at the Cracker Barrel or at

Mike’s home by 9:00 am.

Comedy Show and Dinner: Gary has scheduled March 14th for a fun evening for the members at Doc Holiday’s, New Cumberland. Members would meet for dinner and then go into the show.
