Thursday, October 2nd.  

Monthly CVCC membership meeting at the Elks in Carlisle starting at 7:30 PM.  (PA-100)

Friday, October 3rd.   

Tail Fins and Chrome.  This is the name of five new 42 cent stamps  and five new 27 cent post cards.  The United States Postal System will have its First Day Ceremony on this day in Carlisle on the Carlisle Fairgrounds during Fall Carlisle.  The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 12:30 PM.  Each of the five stamps will feature a car from the 1950's:  1957  Chrysler 300C; 1957 Lincoln Premiere; 1957 Pontiac Safari; 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk; and 1959 Cadillac Eldorado.  This is a great event for classic car lovers.

Saturday, October 11th.   

CVCC Good Old Days Corvette Fun Show.  This event will be held at and sponsored by Lawrence Chevrolet, 6445 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg.   Registrations opens at 7:00 AM and closes at 10:00 AM.  Entry fee is a 1970's sum of $10.  Click on Cumberland Valley CC Concours for more details. (75)  

Saturday, October 11th.

CVCC Fall Cruise  to Renovo.  This will be the 60th anniversary of the Flaming Foliage Festival and Parade in Renovo, PA.  The parade will feature the young ladies who are competing for the title of "Miss Flaming Foliage".  And this year CVCC Corvettes will carry the aspiring contestants in the parade.  To do this, 35 Corvettes are needed.  (On Sept 1st there was a need for 10 more cars.)  Each Corvette must have an open top; i.e., convertible or removable top.  Please contact J. Paul by September 4th if you can volunteer.  Meet at the Ranch House restaurant (north of the 322/15 interchange) for an 8:00 AM departure and caravan to Renovo.  Additional details will be provided after you sign up.  (50)

Saturday, October 18th.

Farmer's Fair Parade.  Dillsburg.  We will meet at an alley between North Baltimore Street and North Second Street  and Welty Avenue and West Church Street in Dillsburg.   Meeting time is 6:00 PM.  M. Strayer is chairing this event.  You may decorate your car for Halloween.  (50)

Tuesday, October 21st.   

Monthly CVCC Board meeting starting at 7:00 PM.  This will be at Hoss's Steak and Sea in Mechanicsburg.

Friday, October 24th.   

Cumberland Valley High School Homecoming.  The nine cars needed have all been volunteered.  Be at the school by 7:30 PM.  Meet at the far end of the football field next to the dumpsters.  If you can help, please call J. Fusco.  Use the recently updated club directory for contact info.  (50)

Saturday, October 25th.  

Shippensburg Homecoming.  E. Hare is chairing this event and needs at least 10 cars for the Homecoming Parade.  The parade starts at 10:15 AM, and we should be in the formation area no later than 9:30 AM.  The formation will be the same as in previous years - the west end of Shippensburg.  Join the Hare's for a morning coffee at their home prior to the parade, and from there all can caravan to the formation area.  Please provide your year and color of your Vette so that this information can be provided to the Homecoming Committee.  This will help when we pass the review stand.  (50)

Saturday, October 25th.  

Dyno Day II.  Sign up now for an opportunity to test your Vette on a dyno.  This time CVCC will have the place to ourselves.  For details of the facility and location go to :  www.yorkdyno.com.  The cost is $50 for three runs, and the time of the event starts at 9:00 AM.  We should be done by noon.  The dyno is located on Route 30 east of York between Sherman Street and North Hills Road.  Turn in where you see Apple Nissan.  Contact J.
