CVCC Monthly Meeting

April 5th, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by President  J. Priestner.

A motion was made by S. Walter, seconded by K. Sandoe to accept the secretary’s minutes for March.  Motion passed.

G. Miller gave the Treasurers report.  A motion was made by M. Ludt, seconded by L. Kiser to accept the Treasurer’s report.  Motion passed.

D. Walter gave the Governors report.

April 29 YCCC Concours

May 19 & 20 East Region Spectacular:

The host hotel for this event is the Clarian Hotel in Aberdeen, Maryland .  Phone number to make reservations is 1-800-346-3612 Price $89.00 per night.  Please leave them know you are making reservations for the Corvette event.

R. Steel   97 Red Coupe Sponsored by J. Priestner.  A motion was made by K. Priestner, seconded by J. Bower, passed by voice vote to accept him into the Club.  Welcome!

D. & S. Hutton, 1994 Navy Blue Convertible.  Sponsored by, The Baldwin’s.

D. & L. Carney, 1987 Dark Red Classic Top Coupe.  Sponsored by, D. Walter.

M. Baldwin thanked everyone for coming out and participating in the Go Kart Track event.  The guys had a good time, but must learn to play nice together.

Pocono Driving School.  Dave reported the school is full and we are ready to go.

Bill reported everything set for the Awards Banquet.

The Bowling Challenge we did with the York County Club was won by CVCC again this year.  CVCC collected $216.00 in donations from the club members before this event so we could present a check to the Special Olympics teams which was also bowling there.   CVCC added $316.00 and presented them with a check for $600.00.  All had a good time and went out to eat afterward.  Next year it is York County’s turn to host this event.

The Elk’s Club would like to have 15 cars for the Carlisle Memorial Day Parade.  Please leave B. Grove know if you will drive in this parade.  This includes all types of Corvettes.

May 26 is CVCC’s Fun & Judged Car show.  Ken & Kim need help with this.  If you are willing to help contact them.

Bube’s Brewery is Friday May 11 7:00 P.M. again the phone number for your reservations is 717-653-2057.  This is a really fun time.

G. Wolf also announced  that Big Spring High School is raising money for a scholarship fund for a young man who passed away at the age of 29.  He was a very good athlete at the school and was a good friend of Gary & Jackie’s.  They are having a Golf Tournament at the Cumberland Golf Course on June 9.  If you would like to participate contact Gary or the Golf Course.

Jackie wishes to thank everyone for the Flowers and Cards she received while recuperating from a broken ankle.

J. Bower volunteered to do the club Newsletter and has done an outstanding job.  Thank you so much Joan for taking this on, the whole club appreciates it.

E. Hare has been contacted by the Shippensburg Fair committee for cars to drive their Fair Queen and Court.  This is Sunday July 22.  They need 10 cars.  You are to be at the Fairgrounds between 2:30 & 3:00 P.M.  Parade moves at 4:00.  If you wish to help contact him.

May 5 is the Spina Bifida Fly-in.  This is held at the New Cumberland Army Depot.  If you wish to participate and take the kids and their family’s rides in your car be there by 10:00.  The event is from 10:00 to 3:00.

CVCC’s Annual Golf Outing will be held August 18 at the Mayapple Golf Links this year.  B. Loser has the flyers ready and needs donations for Door Prizes.  The proceeds go to Spina Bifida.  Please help and get donations from businesses for this event.

The Board will discuss further on obtaining a Life Membership for our Club at the National Corvette Museum.

D. Walter made a motion about underwriting a track for those who would like to autoX or learn to autoX.  T. Pesano seconded.  Motion to be discussed further.

CVCC Board Meeting

April 17, 2007

The meeting was held at Scotties in Mechanicsburg.

President J. Priestner called the meeting to order.

Old Business:

Discussed the East Region Spectacular.  7 concours scheduled for Saturday & Sunday.  The AutoX will be Saturday.

No date as yet for the Question/Answer Night with J. McKinney.

Tires were purchased for the Club Trailer.  The door on the trailer was sanded & spray painted until sometime in the future we can locate another door.

G.  Wolf reported everything is ready for the July 22 AutoX at the Big Spring School lot.  He will take care of getting the lunch wagon we use at our shows to see if they can come that day.

Holly Inn Show for May 26 is set.

Jack reminded the board that the June meeting will be changed to the 26th.  Judy will notify Scotties.

New Business:

The board approved presenting Spina Bifida with a check for $1000.00 at the Fly-in.  The motion was made by E. Hare, seconded by D. Walter and passed by all to do this.  B. Bowen will present the check.

We need everyone in the club to help B. Loser with the annual golf outing by getting hole sponsors and people or business owners to donate items for the prizes we give to the participants.  There are over 200 people in the club so we should be able to get plenty items.

The SCCA has a few items for sale which include 200 or more cones, timing equipment, generator, elec. Cords etc.  G. Miller made a motion for D. Walter to check these items out and to spend $750.00 for anything he deems we could use.  M. Ludt seconded.  Motion passed.

A motion was made by Jack, seconded by Bob to pay $500.00 per year to the Corvette Museum for CVCC to have a lifetime membership there.  This will be discussed at the next membership meeting in May to get approval from all club members.

Discussion was made about the rental of the Shenandoah track.  Dave has made up a registration flyer for this event which will be July 8th.  Contact him for pre-registration.

Also discussed was Charity contributions from our different events as to how much money goes to charity and how much goes back to the club.

The Board reviewed the Treasurer’s year-end report.

Jack wants to do another club photo.  This will be done at the July picnic meeting at the Ludt’s home.

The next Board Meeting will be held at Scotties in Mechanicsburg  May 15 at 7:00 P.M.
