CVCC Monthly Meeting

November 2nd, 2006

The monthly meeting was opened by President Ludt.

A correction to the secretaries minutes regarding where monies go when hosting an event.  It is the person chairing the event’s choice, but it must be a legitimate charity.

A motion was made by E. Hare, seconded by M. Bobb and passed by a voice vote to accept the secretaries report for October.

G. Miller gave the Treasurers report.  He will be writing and mailing the rest of the car raffle money to the designated charities before the end of the year.  A motion was made by R. Wolf, seconded by K. Sandoe to accept the Treasurers report.  Motion passed.

D. Walter gave the Governors report.

The Holly Inn Show date has been changed to May 26th.

CVCC presented Denny Carney from Spina Bifida Association our check for $3000.00.  They really appreciate our support in helping them to meet their goals.

Russell Orlando from the American Cancer Society was also in attendance at our meeting.  We presented him with a check for $1750.00 from the H&H Chevrolet Show & the car raffle.  They were also appreciative of the money.

RECAP OF RECENT EVENTS

Renovo Fall Foliage Parade.  J. Paul reported their again was six cars attending.  The drive there was beautiful with changing leaves.  He thanked everyone for attending and hopes to have more cars participate next year.

THE RUFE CHEVROLET SHOW

This show was again a good event.  Feed back on the Funkhanna was very positive.  Folks had a ball driving the lawn mowers S. Gutshall provided.  Marlin, Bill and Judy wish to thank everyone who helped us with this show.  We really appreciated it.  Our own L. Wolf took the best of show prize.

B. Grove made a motion to give the Elk’s Home Visitation charity $2000.00 from the Rufe Show this motion was seconded by D. Walter and passed with a voice vote.

DILLSBURG FARMERS FAIR PARADE

CVCC is invited every year to attend this parade and also to provide some cars for the parade queen.  This year we had over twenty cars participate.  We decorated our cars and some of the passengers wore costumes.  We had a ball. Club member W. Chilcote wants to thank everyone from the club for turning out.  We did have one club member lock her keys in the car.  She finally got them out.

GETTYSBURG RALLYE

There were 10 cars for this event.  The weather hampered the attendance.  Karen did an excellent job with this easy rallye.  Everyone enjoyed themselves and came back with smiles on their faces.

SHIPPENSBURG COLLEGE HOMECOMING

E. Hare thanked those who did the Shippensburg College Homecoming.  This was the same day as the Rufe Show so he was not able to do the homecoming, but several of our members did.

The Board meeting was held at Scotties Beef & Reef in Mechanicsburg and was called to order by President Ludt.
