CVCC Monthly Meeting

April 13th, 2006

The meeting was called to order by President M. Ludt.  

A motion was made by EJ, seconded by E. Hare to accept the Secretary’s minutes for March.  Motion passed.

G. Miller gave the Treasurers report.  A motion was made by EJ, seconded by M. Bobb to accept the Treasurer’s report.  Motion passed.

D. Walter gave the Governors report.

Pocono Driving School, April 22 & 23.  Still need help.  Come out and help the club with this money making event.  Contact M. Ludt if you can help.

April 30th YCCC is having a fun concours at Thornton Chevrolet in Manchester.  One of their members contacted Marlin and would like to see as many as possible from our club there.

Kerry Haas, sponsosred by D. Walter.  Kerry has a 1971 Dark Red Metallic coupe.

A motion was made by S. Walter, seconded by G. Wolf.  Motion was passed by everyone to accept Kerry into the club.

These folks will have their second reading at the May meeting.  They are welcome to participate in any of our activities.

The Hurley’s are going to formalize this committee so if you are interested in helping contact them.  They want to get started by June so they can have things finalized by Corvettes at Carlisle so we can announce at the show what we are doing.

Thanks to M. Ludt for the use of his shop for our Judging School.  We had quite a turn out for this event.

CVCC was invited by YCCC to participate in a Bowling Tournament.  Four people from CVCC attended.  It was a lot of fun and CVCC won the trophy.  CVCC will host the next tournament sometime this fall or winter.  Hopefully we will have more participation.

THANK YOU RITA FOR BOOKING US A WOUNDERFUL FUN CRUISE.  Everyone had a lot of fun.  Those that went were George & Melissa, Ed & Mary, EJ & George, Rita & Jim, Jack, Ken & Trish, Bill & Cindy.

Holly Inn Show May 20th Ken & Kim still need workers and judges.

Cumberland Vista Car Show  (1st Annual C.R.O.S.S.) will be held May 13th , 1073 York Road Dillsburg.  Anyone interested contact Marlin for directions.

We were contacted by Walt from the West Fairview American Legion needing cars for a parade on June 4th.  They need 6 convertibles.  If you can help the club out for this event or would like to take charge of this event contact Marlin.  We are charging $10.00 per car.  Remember this money goes to Spina Bifida.

The West York VFW has contacted us to be part of their Memorial Day Parade.  We are still looking for someone to head this event.  Contact Marlin.

July 9th the Country Cruisers of Lebanon has invited us to a Cruisin to Campbelltown on 322.  Starts 9:00 A,M. until 4:00 P.M. this is open to all Cars not only Corvettes.  Street Rods, Classics Customs, Antiques, Muscle Cars, Trucks, Bikes, etc.  Pre registration $8.00  Day of Show $10.00.   Marlin has flyer.  If interested contact him.

CVCC has again been invited to participate in the Carlisle Summerfair Parade.  June 30th 6:45 P.M.  We will meet at the Weis Store corner of High & Spring Garden streets in Carlisle by 6:15 P.M.  Let’s have a good club showing for Carlisle.  The theme for this year’s parade is “Friends Having Fun”

The Elk’s mentioned CVCC in their newsletter, saying that this lodge gave $27,000 to their charity of that amount $1,500.00 was donated by CVCC.

Once again the Masonic Lodge in Elizabethtown will be have a Mini Grand Prix.  This will be June 3rd with a rain date of June 4th.  C. Strayer is chairing this event.  If you are willing to help him with this please contact him ASAP.

We discussed revising the By Laws in regard to New Members must attend at least one of their readings or an event.  We have tabled this until May’s meeting.

REMINDER THE JULY MONTHLY MEETING WILL BE HELD ON THE 6TH .  This will be a picnic meeting held at the home of Mike & Tracy.

Friday April 28th J. Newman asked for Corvettes at the Boiling Springs High School for children with special needs.  You are to meet at 9:00 a.m.

Triple AutoX at Pharo’s Truck Stop June 11th.  We will be using our new timing equipment.  We will also need corner workers.

A motion was made by K. Sandoe, seconded by EJ to adjourn the meeting.  Motion passed by everyone.

CVCC Board Meeting

April 18th, 2006

  The meeting was called to order by President M. Ludt.

Scotties Beef & Reef was the place for the Board Meeting.

The Board discussed what is needed as yet for the Pocono Driving School.

Dave has 2 passes for Spring Carlisle as yet.  J. Watts will be there all weekend on the club’s sites.

The Board decided we should give a check to Spina Bifida in the same amount as last year.

The Board also decided to table changing the By-Laws on new making it mandatory for new members to attend one meeting.  This information is already on the applications.

Marlin is sending back the club’s acceptance to participate in the Carlisle Summer Fair Parade.  He will have something written for them to read as we pass the grand stand.

REMINDER YCCC CONCOURS APRIL 30TH AT THORNTON CHEVROLET.            

It was discussed to contact L. Kiser and schedule a time for him to put everything together for our new timing equipment to make sure everything is working properly.

B. Grove is still taking orders for the Club Jackets.  Please contact him if you are interested.

The Board is recommending we raise our dues.  This will be discussed at the next monthly meeting and voted upon then.

We will be needing a new newsletter person and a new Secretary next year.  If you are interested in the position of Newsletter leave Tracy or Marlin know.  September is the nominations for Secretary.

The next Board Meeting will be held May 16 at Scotties Beef and Reef in Mechanicsburg 7:30 P.M.
