PLEASE NOTE

THE APRIL CLUB MEETING HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THURSDAY APRIL 13.

HOLIDAY PARTY:  Joan & Faye once again out did themselves for the party.  We all had a great time.  The entertainment was good as well as the band.

Joan and Faye have also resigned as chairpersons for the entertainment committee.  If anyone wishes to take on this assignment please leave Marlin know.

We have had some requests for another trip to Las Vegas.  Judy will plan another trip for 2007, around the end of June, if there is enough interest.  Please leave her know.

POCONO DRIVING SCHOOL:

The school is 80% full.  If you would like to participate in the school, contact Dave.  If you would like to help work that weekend, contact M. Ludt or G. Miller.  The host hotel is the RAMADA INN, $85.00 per night.  Phone 1-800-251-2610.  Contact person is Susan.  April 22 & 23.

If you plan on attending the Awards Banquet, B. Grove is the person to contact.  He needs to know what you would like to eat and how you would like your steaks prepared.  Banquet is April 15 at the Carlisle Elks.  Prices are as follows:   Surf & Turf   $30.00

                 Chicken        $12.00

                 Beef Filet      $18.00

Time 6-7 social hour, meal 7-8, awards 8-9 then dancing.

Ken & Kim ordered sweat shirts for the Pocono Driving School.

Holly Inn Car Show:  Ken & Kim have flyers (registration forms) for the show.  This will be held May 20.

The Hurley's will co-chair the committee for the raffle car charity money.  They are looking for helpers.

A motion was made by D. Walter to purchase a new computer and Timing Program to run our AutoCrosses. The amount allowed by the board was $1,200.00. Ours was made by someone in the SCCA club and it is obsolete.  The reason for the new computer is the new operating system will not run on windows ME which is what we have.  We need windows XP.  To have this put onto the old computer it will cost us about $500.00.  This motion was seconded by Mike Strayer and motion was passed by everyone.  The plan for the old computer is to give it to the Treasurer to put the club’s operating information on it.

Club e-mail group.  If you wish to send an e- mail to one individual use the club directory to get their e-mail address otherwise when you send e-mail on the google group it goes to everyone who signed up for the club group.

Recognition Awards for CVCC members. (NCCC Points)

  1. Award top 3 club members in National Points.
  2. Award top 3 places for each type of event from NCCC East Region Points.

Rallye’s

Speed Events

Show’s

All points will be from the NCCC tally.

A motion was made by Neil Flynn to accept the Board’s recommendation.  Seconded by Skip Gutshall.  Motion was passed by a voice vote.

M. Ludt is looking into having an outing at the Go Cart Track again this year.  There was a lot of interest so he will check this out.

Sunday March 19th EJ & George will be having a judging school.  This will be 1 P.M. at M. Ludt’s Barn.  Directions will be given later.

L. Stone found an article in a Corvette Magazine about a GM Restoration Package which is free.  It gives you all the information on your vehicle.  1-800-222-1020.  Give them your Vin number and year of your car.

A motion to adjourn was made by K. Cless, seconded by G. Wolf and agreed by everyone.

Respectfully Submitted,

Judy

CVCC Board Meeting

Febuary 14th, 2006

Meeting Opened: VP J. Priestner presided over the meeting in the absence of the president.

Board Meetings:  Make sure everyone understands the Board Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of the month.  There was an error in the newsletter.

Club Radios:  G. Miller $615.78 paid for the new radio equipment.

Judging school: To be held at M. Ludt's March 19th @ 1:00.  EJ & George are planning this event.  The club will be supplying beverages and snacks.

April meeting:  Reminder Club meeting changed to April 13th because several members will be on a cruise.

Club jackets:  B. Grove will get a sample club jacket to show everyone.

Awards Banquet: Dave has flier up on East Region website and our CVCC website regarding the awards banquet.  Karen and Jack have sent out invitations to the top 10 East Region winners in each category inviting them to the banquet.  This was done last year and we received a lot of positive feedback, so decided to do it again.

Trophies:  T&J Trophies have all awards about complete.  Judy will be picking them up around March 15th. Discussion about whether or not people want trophies.  G. Wolf discussed the possibility of giving the people who receive a trophy as a “points achiever” a choice of getting a trophy or donating the money to our charity fund instead. This discussion was brought up because numerous people have expressed that they don’t have a need to receive so many trophies.  Exceptions might include fractured fiber, rookie of the year, president’s award, etc.  Jack discussed the possibility of decreasing the number of categories we give trophies for.  Dave also suggested possibly using certificates instead of trophies.  In the past, we have had a program available on each table which listed who was receiving what awards.  This is another way to give those people recognition.  Also could list in the newsletter.  The board will wait until after the awards banquet for further discussion on this issue.  The club is paying for the DJ, centerpieces, DJ’s meal, etc for the awards banquet, in order to support those members who have contributed to the club throughout the year.

Pocono: D. Walter reports registration is now full. He has 2 people on a waiting list already.  M. Ludt & G. Miller are in charge of workers.  If you’ve never been to our driving school and are interested in seeing what it is all about, come out and work this event. See Mike or Gary.

Charity Committee:  Car proceeds need to be dispersed this year.  M. Hurly will be in charge of the charity committee.  Dave mentioned that ProTeam has agreed to double any donations made to the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation.  There may be other organizations around that have similar programs.  If anyone is aware of any, let a board member or Mike know about it.  Discussion followed regarding what percentage of the profit from the car will be donated to charity.  From the profit cleared, 80% will go to charity, 20% will go toward club improvements. All of this money is currently in a CD until decisions are made about the money.

Fall Rallye:  Keith may do a rallye or cruise to Huntington County in the fall.

New Laptop:  L. Kiser will be downloading new software for the new club laptop computer.   We will want to get together once this is done to co-ordinate software with the timing equipment.  Will advise of date.

Go-Karts:  M. Ludt is planning a go-kart night at Carlisle Sports Emporium 7-9 pm on March 15.  Cost should be approximately $40 per person, if we get 20 people.  If you are interested in joining this fun event, email Karen at jaxkar@suscom.net, or let M. Ludt know at the March meeting.  Money will be due at the March meeting to M. Ludt.  If you cannot make it to the March meeting and are interested in joining in, give him a call.

Bowling with YCCC:  Got a call from Spencer Newcomer of YCCC, they are inviting our club to a bowling tournament on Saturday March 25th at 4:00 PM.   Cost will be $11.00 per person.  This includes 2 games and food.  This sounds like it would be a fun evening for those who would be interested.   Two other clubs are also invited.  Come on out!  We wil find out the location and let the club know.

Summit Point Driving School:  Northern Virginia Corvette Club is having a high speed driving school on the big track at Summit Point on Monday April 10th.  Anyone interested can find information on the NVCC website or the CVCC website or contact Jack at jaxkar@suscom.net.  Cost is $150.

Spring Carlisle: Flea market April 20-23rd.  Our club has a couple of spots available.  Dave said that J. Watts will be at Carlisle all weekend.  Club members can bring car parts'accessories to sell.  See John, if interested.

New Member Readings:  A discussion was held regarding whether or not potential members should have to be present during their first or second readings.  Nothing in our club Constitution requires potential members to be in attendance.  If we do change the by-laws, it would refer to a requirement for attendance, at least, a candidate's first or second reading, with exception made for a "hardship" (such as working second shift), excused by a board member.  Discussion will continue on this topic as it would require a change in our by-laws.  The possibility of a by-laws committee was discussed, as if we are going to make one change to the by-laws we should look at the by-laws in their entirety to see what other changes might need to be made.

Respectfully Submitted,

Karen
