CVCC Board Meeting

November 15, 2005

Meeting Opened --VP Jack P. presided over the meeting in the absence of President Marlin L.

Dues/Membership --The Board discussed the dues/membership renewals for 2006.  Dave W. will be sending the dues to NCCC on Nov. 16.  Unpaid members are welcome to join in the future, but will be required to re-join at the new member rate.

CVCC Google Email Group --Jack P. reported that 60 members have signed up for the CVCC email group on Google thus far.  New members are automatically being enrolled as they submit their application for membership.  All members are encouraged to enroll in this email group.   He also stated that a separate Forum can be set-up for Board members to communicate through email.

Points --Jack reported that the “points” tally is updated with the exception of a couple of Nov/Dec events.  Discussion followed regarding the restructuring of the current “points system”.  A motion was made by Keith S/seconded by Gary W. to designate a committee to restructure the points system.  The Board recommends the formation of such a committee.

Awards Banquet/Trophies – Jack suggested that the Trophies Committee start earlier to choose the trophies so there is no delay in ordering/receiving the trophies before the banquet.    The Board recommends that the vendor be given a due date for delivery of trophies with no exceptions, or another vendor will be sought.

Raffle – Jack reported on the raffle information forwarded by Marlin.   Marlin would like to thank all members who sold/bought tickets.  4332 tickets were sold.  A special thanks to Larry K. & Bill G. for their “handling” of the purchased tickets/money.  Also, a special thanks to Rita & EJ & Judy.......the top sellers.  The club netted $16078.72 from the raffle.  A motion was made by Gary W./seconded by Bob B. to channel 80% of the raffle money to charities and 20% to remain in club treasury for future operating expenses.   The Board recommends following the same procedure as was used in our last raffle to designate the distribution of monies; i.e.....the members will be given a “ballot” to list their top 3 charity preferences.   Votes will equate to dollar amounts.

Rufe Show – Rufe Show was a success.   Marlin thanks everyone who donated/purchased auction items and all who participated in show.  Auction brought in $1500.  Board recommends that the auction income be donated to Elk’s Club.

Pocono Driving School – There are 30 rooms blocked at the Ramada Inn for CVCC driving school (April 22-23).   Kim & Ken are working on developing sweatshirts for this event.  Dave reported that the cost of the track is going up; therefore, the Board recommends that the entry fee be increased.  Additional discussions regarding this increase will take place next month.

Happenings Calendar – Bob B. has “resigned” from maintaining the Happenings Calendar.  Volunteer is being solicited.

December’s Board Mtg –The December Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 14, at 6:30pm at the Holly Inn.   All current and newly-elected board members & their spouses are invited to attend.   Please reply to Judy as soon as possible, as she will need a “count” for the restaurant.

(Note: Cost of dinner is each board member’s responsibility).

Meeting Adjourned –With no further discussions, meeting adjourned at 8:45pm.

Respectfully Submitted,

Trish for Judy
