CVCC Monthly Meeting

September 1, 2005

The Monthly Meeting was called to order by President Ludt and asked for a moment of silence for the Hurricane Victims in the South.

A motion was made by K. Priestner, seconded by K. Cless, passed by a voice vote to accept the Secretary’s minutes for August.

G. Miller gave the Treasurer’s report.  A motion was made by N. Flynn, seconded by G. Bobb, passed by a voice vote to accept the Treasurer’s report.

D. Walter gave the Governor’s report.  He reported that CVCC is leading the East Region in points. 

M. Stouffer is leading the East Region with 178 Points.  His national points are 602.  C. Stouffer is leading the East Region for the women’s side with 182 points.

ANNIVERSARY CAR:

Marlin thanked everyone who helped sell tickets at Carlisle.  This was a great effort by those people.  We deposited $4,880.00 from the sales.

The car was at the New Cumberland Federal Credit Union and we sold about 20 tickets there.  Thanks to those who sold tickets there.

Next the car will be at the Carlisle Airport for the air and car show there on Sept. 10th.  We all have been invited to bring our cars there for display and the festivities.

The H&H Show is the 17th and the car will be there.  We will need people to help sell tickets.

After the H&H Show the car will be on display in the showroom at Rufe Chevrolet until the show there Oct. 22. We will give the car away to the lucky winner whose ticket is drawn that day.

EJ thanked everyone for the flowers, cards, phone calls and prayers during her recent back surgery.

Spina Bifida sent a thank you for the donation our club sent them.

HOMECOMINGS:

This is the list we know of.

7 Cars and a Chairperson is needed for the homecoming at East Pennsboro High School October 7th.  Contact Marlin for the name of contact person at the school.  The ceremony will be at 6:30.  They are having it before the game this year so we should be there by 5:30 – 5:45.  We should be done by 7:30.

E. Hare needs cars for the Shippensburg College Homecoming Sept. 15th  Contact him if you can help him.

Thanks to everyone who helped clean the club trailer and also those who helped to set-up at Carlisle.

Marlin was a celebrity judge for Corvettes at Carlisle.  He had lunch with Miss America Dedria Downs.  She autographed a picture for the club which he read at the club meeting.

Three of our members were picked for the Celebrity Parade and received a plaque.  B. Ahl, K. Novinger and E. Shughart.  Congratulations Guys.

Thanks to EJ for acquiring the Market Cross Pub for us to gather during and after the Corvette Parade.

There was a rumor going around that M. Breen went to an autox, hauled his car there to participate and forgot the keys to his corvette.  That’s ok, we all are getting old and forgetful.

We will be going to the Hershey Museum Sept. 11th.  Just meet there in the parking lot.  $6.00 adults, $5.00 for seniors (over 60) $4.00 for kids.  We will be going to eat afterwards.  B. Bowen is chairperson.

E. Hare would like you to bring any radio controlled cars you may have to the H&H Show.

Sept. 24 is the Poker Run K. Stanley has gotten together for us.  Meet at noon at Boyd’s Bear Country in Gettysburg.  Last exit 15 South.

We are still looking for donations for the Auction at the October 22 Rufe Car Show.  When you get them please leave Marlin or B. Grove know.

D. Walter discussed the sanctions for next year.  We have 2 left if anyone wants to do something contact Dave.

M. Hurley has shirts from Carlisle Vette Parade this year and last year.

This year’s shirt $10.00 Last year $5.00.

The Carlisle Elk’s has invited us to their October Fest Sept 30th.  $20.00 per person.

CVCC Board Meeting

September 20, 2005  

The monthly Board Meeting was held at Scotties in Mechanicsburg.

President Ludt opened the meeting.

CLUB DUES ARE NOW DUE.

The possibility of raising dues was discussed and will be presented at the next monthly membership meeting.  NCCC raised their membership dues last year.

RE-CAP OF SEPTEMBER EVENTS:

Our club really turned out for the Carlisle Airport Show hosted by the Blue Moon Cruisers.  Thanks to all of you.  It was a fun time. 

Hershey Museum:

Thanks to Bob for organizing the wonderful trip to the Hershey Museum and the good food and entertainment afterward.

H&H Show:  Ed & Mary did a great job hosting this show.  It was once more a successful show.  Everyone including the kids had a good and entertaining time.  We had 63 cars and probably would have had more, but there were other events going on the same day.

Anniversary Car Report:

The car was at the Carlisle Airport, we sold 80 tickets there.

Then G. Wolf & G. Miller took the car the same evening to the Cruise-in at the Hagerstown Mall and sold 80 tickets there.

We also sold 80 tickets at the H&H Show.   (80) Seems to be the number.

Next it will be at Boyd’s Bear’s for our rallye.  Then to Fall Carlisle then  back to the show room at Rufe Chevrolet until the drawing October 22.

HOMECOMINGS: 

York Catholic School:  5 cars, September 30, D. Marteny is the contact person.

Shippensburg College:  October 15, E. Hare is the contact person.

Scotland School:  October 1.  We have our 5 cars for this.  Could use 1 for back-up.

East Pennsboro High School:  7 cars. October 7.  We have all cars including back- up.

Hershey High School: October 14.  Not sure how many cars.  This is for a parade thru Hershey to the school and that’s it.  K. Sandoe is the contact person for this.
