CVCC Monthly Meeting

February 3, 2005

The Monthly meeting was called to order by President Ludt.  

A motion was made by K. Cless, seconded by R. Wolf and passed by a voice vote to accept the Secretary’s minutes for January.

G. Miller gave the Treasurer’s report.  A motion was made by K. Sandoe, seconded by M. Stouffer and passed by a voice vote to accept the report.

Harry Moller, Exalted Ruler of The Elk’s, was present and discussed how CVCC  donations are utilized. Also present: Nurse Teresa from Elk’s Home Service Program discussed how she goes into patient’s homes and, with our donations, helps to get the needed services and items for them. 

Governor’s Report:

Very good turnout at the Auto Show Concours.

There will be a group going to Kenley North Carolina for the AutoCross on March 19 & 20.  Cost:  $6.00 per event.  $85.00 for all 14 events.  Rooms are $42.99 per night. If interested contact J. Priestner for info.

April 9th and 10th high speed event hosted by Carolina Corvette Club at Rockingham Motor Speedway.  If interested contact J. Priestner.

S.. Walter and D. Crone are still in Hershey Hospital.  We wish them a speedy recovery. 

J. McCarthy reported the Web Site is up to date.

Raffle Car report was given by R. Wable.

Special Thanks was given to J. Fahringer and F. Crone for the wonderful job they did on the Holiday Party.  JF thanked everyone who helped out with the party.

JF was asked, and has agreed  to continue as Social Director.

Several Social Committee trips planned :  Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville. Date: Saturday, April 2nd.  Departing York at 6:30.  Capital City Airport 7:15.  Cost is $57.00 per person.

Old Fashioned Picnic,  Sunday, June 5th.  Price $20.00 per person.

Cruisers and Waxers report given.

B. Grove discussed  the Awards Banquet. It is again being held at The Elk’s.  Sign up sheets were passed around.  Change in price of dinners:

                            Surf & Turf  $ 30.00

                            Filet  $18.00

                            Stuffed Chicken Breast  $12.00.

Money is due by the March Meeting.

  Raffle Car Money can be turned in to B. Grove or L. Kiser.

 Money forGo Kart Races needs to be given to K. Priestner by March meeting.  

D. Walter discussed Pocono Driving School. Track is paid for. 

Sign-up sheets were sent around for anyone wanting to help out at this event.

K. Priestner and D. Marteny are working on a Rallye.  Details are still being worked out.

Hooters Show will not be a sanctioned event this year.  K. Stanley will have more information at next meeting.

G. Wolf discussed putting together a Fall Cruise  to Falling Waters, WV.

Potential date is October 8, 9, 10 .

If you ordered a blue shirt from K. Sandoe they are in.  Any shirts not picked up will be sold.

May 14th, Spring Rufe Show.

May 22nd, Rallye .

July 10th, Double AutoCross at Pharo’s Truck Stop.  2 Sanctions

AutoCross at Corvettes at Carlisle.

September 17th, H&H Show.

October 22nd, Rufe Show and Raffle Car Giveaway

CPCC Drag Races, May 7th,  10:00am to 1:00 pm.  $35.00 per car.  If interested contact D. Walter.  

Name of person who sold the  most Raffle Car Tickets will be announced next month.  The winner will receive a gift certificate to Mid America Motor Works.

CVCC Board Meeting

February 15, 2005

Jack updated the status of several members who have had surgery/illness.  H. Shenk and S. Walter are both recovering very well from their recent surgeries.  D. Crone continues to undergo extensive testing during his undiagnosed illness.

Raffle Car -- Ticket sales did very well at CPCC's recent concours at the Farm Show.  CVCC will send thank you letter to CPCC for allowing us to sell raffle tickets at their event.  The raffle car will be present at the Spring Carlisle Show and mosst of the CVCC events this year.

CVCC's 40th Anniversary Clothing -- At the next monthly meeting, Marlin will solicit volunteers to be members of Design Committee to create several possible designs for club's 40th anniversary logo.  This committee will then submit design to a Selection Committee.  D. Walter and  G. Wolf have thus far volunteered for the Selection Committee.

Awards Banquet -- Ken reported that the trophies were ordered for the Awards Banquet.  Invitations to the Awards Banquet were mailed to the top 10 NCCC recipients in the East Region.  51 of the 100 NCCC awards will be awarded to CVCC members.  Great job CVCC!!  All CVCC attendees are asked to bring a door prize.

Go Kart Track -- Thursday, March 17.  Plans are finalized.  Money will be collected at the March meeting.  

Pocono Driving School -- Dave reported that the registration is considered closed.  He is taking names for the waiting list.  Members should see Dave if they wish to register.  See G. Miller or M. Ludt if interested in working the track.  

Spring Rallye -- May 22 -- K. Priestner and D. Marteny have completed the route and are now working on the actual rallye questions.  Entrant's fee:  $20 per car.  

Elks Club -- Presentation by the Elks Club officials at last month's meeting was informative.

License Plate Holders -- Jack displayed a sample license plate holder imprinted with CVCC logo.  The Board approved 300 holders be ordered and sold for $2.00 each.

CVCC/NCCC T-shirts -- Jack displayed a sample t-shirt that can be imprinted with CVCC's NCCC accomplishments over the past several years.

Hooter's/Penn National -- Keith reported on the preliminary meetings with Hooter's to plan the fun show scheduled for June 12.  Keith also volunteered to plan another visit to Penn National Race Track, possibly for the Fall.

Adjournment -- With no additional discussions, the meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
