SEPTEMBER -- MONTHLY BOARD MEETING
September
21st,
2004
The
meeting was called to order by President Sandoe.
The
Board Meeting was held at Ye Olde Ale House in
Mechanicsburg.
We
discussed how well the H&H Show was again.
Don & Linda did an excellent job again.
Thanks to Ed & Mary for having the club at their
home after the show.
Mini
Grand Prix – Gary reported everything went great.
Carl did a good job in getting workers and the
Mason’s were happy with our performance.
Rufe
Show - Still looking for donations for the charity auction
we have a few but need more.
Please leave Marlin know if you can help by donating
something.
Car
Raffle – Don’t forget to turn your money in to Larry or
Bill.
One of
our own needs help.
On
Wednesday September 1st B. Bowen’s son-in-law,
Ken Hartmoyer, was killed in a tractor trailer accident.
Bob’s Daughter, Kris, and Ken were separated for a
few years, but they still did family things together with
their daughter Kara. Now
Kris finds herself a widow at age 32, and Bob’s
granddaughter Kara, is now fatherless at age 8.
The accident happened on Kara’s first day of 3rd
grade. Ken had
called her that morning to wish her a good first day of
school, and said he would see her that night to hear all
about it. He
never made it home. Kara
turned 8 on September 6, and two days later she buried her
Daddy.
In
trying to settle Ken’s estate, Kris has found out there is
no life insurance, and a pile of debt.
Her only hope for some benefits for her and Kara is
through workers compensation and social security.
Kris is more concerned that she will not be able to
provide the things that Kara will need as she grows up,
primarily saving for college.
At the urging of the family, a trust fund for Kara
has been established.
Kara
Hartmoyer Trust Fund
c/o
Members 1st Federal Credit Union
5000
Louise Drive
Mechanicsburg,
Pa. 17055.
The
CVCC Board has discussed sending $500.00 to this fund, but
it will be brought before the members before any of this is
done. So please
think on this for the October meeting.
Also if anyone of you care to send to this trust fund
on your own, feel free to do so.
The
next Board meeting will be held October 19th at
Ye Olde Ale House in Mechanicsburg at 7:00 P.M.

submitted,
Judy
