APRIL -- MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING
APRIL 1st, 2004
The monthly meeting was opened by
President Sandoe with a silent prayer in memory of Chip
Miller, who passed away March 25, 2004.
A motion was made by Ron, seconded by
Sally, and passed by a voice vote to accept the
secretary’s minutes for the month of March.
Gary gave the Treasurer’s report.
A motion was made by Larry, seconded by Harold, and
passed by a voice vote to accept the Treasurer’s report.
Dave gave the Governor’s report.
In 2005, NCCC dues will increase by $5 for the
primary member.
Currently, CVCC is leading in the East
Region. See

Lynn gave the Cruisers & Waxers
report.

President Sandoe read a card from Joan F.,
thanking members for the lovely cards, flowers, phone calls during her
recuperation from foot surgery.
Faye gave an update on social events.
Upcoming events include:
*April 16 Bube’s Brewery Dinner.
Meet in the lobby between 6:45pm-7:00pm.
*May 15 Inner Harbor trip.
Sign up sheet was circulated.
Must have at least 35 people sign up.
*June 5 Appalachian Brewery Company tour
& sandwiches. $10/pp.

Awards
Banquet– April 3. NOTE:
Bill sincerely apologized for any inconvenience for
“misplacing” the checks/cash for the Awards Banquet.
Fortunately, the checks & cash were FOUND.
Bill
reported that the Dunes Motel apologized for their initial
error in our group’s block of rooms. We
have 28 rooms blocked until August 24, so please call before
that date to make reservation.

Standard efficiency poolside = $45 weekdays & $65
weekends
Deluxe efficiency poolside = $49 weekdays & $69 weekends

provided update for the April 10 Rufe Show.
Remember to wear name tag.
There will be games, food vendors.
Registration between 8:00-10:00am.
Jerry
gave update on the April 17 Drag Races, 8:00am- noon.
Rain date May 1.
$50 entry fee until April 10/
$60 after April 10, spectators $10.
If 50 cars are entered, club will be reimbursed the
initial $250 fee. May
open up to non-corvettes.
Dave
reported that Pocono School is filled.
18 on waiting list.
Ed
suggested that the club purchase 2-3 additional tables for
our events so that we will have a total of 5 tables.
Dave made a motion to purchase 2-3 tables, and Linda
seconded, and passed by a voice vote.
Dave will purchase.
May
1 Spina Bifida Fly In at Capital City Airport to give Spina
Bifida children rides in corvettes.
Meet at 8:30am at Bob Evans for breakfast is
optional. A
motion was made by Mike, seconded by Mark, and passed by
voice vote to match last year’s contribution of $800.
May
9 CVCC/SCCA non-sanctioned autocross at Pharo’s truckstop
lot. Workers
& timing crew needed.
Dave W. made a motion to give SCCA $300, seconded by
Mike L.
passed by voice vote.
June
5-13, 2004, Convention. See Dave for details.
July
1 Monthly meeting will be held at Mike & Tracy’s
house. Bring
covered dish.
July 25 Double Autocross at Pharo’s
lot.

Ken
discussed the arrangements for those who planned to attend
Chip Miller’s memorial service. Donation to Chip’s Memorial Foundation was
discussed. Larry
motioned to contribute $1200, seconded by Dave, passed by
voice vote by majority, 4 opposed.
Jim
M.
reported that we have been asked to run a Mini Grand Prix
for the Masonic Home on Sept. 11 at the Masonic Village in
Elizabethtown.
Will need to supply approx 30-35 workers.
However, this date conflicts with the H&H Show.
Pres. Sandoe emphasized that we do NOT want to take
members from the H&H Show.
Carl suggests that the club at least try to gather
enough workers from those individuals not planning to attend
the show at H&H.
IF YOU ARE WILLING TO COMMIT TO WORKING THE MINI
GRAND PRIX, CONTACT KEN OR CARL.
Jim will respond to the Masonic Home after next
month’s meeting.
Ken
reported that the club-sponsored soapbox car was given to
the Soapbox Derby Association with the stipulation that they
give it to a needy child.
Marlin
read a letter from a family who lost a loved one to lung
cancer. There
is a walk being held on May 15 & 16 for the cancer fund.
Marlin asked if the club had an interest in donating
to this fund. Mary
made a motion to donate $200 to this walk, seconded by Dave,
and passed by voice vote.
Per
Jim, webmaster, the club’s website lists NCCC events each
month with hyperlinks to the flyers for each event.
Carl
asked the club if they were interested in a PA state license
plate specific to our club.
Minimum of 300 plates must be made.
Any interest in this plate, contact Carl.
Mike
& Darlene thanked everyone for sympathy cards/flowers.

Judy,
club secretary…$12/ea.

enjoyed the food and company.

Chevrolet Show:
Thank you to Ed and Mary for the fine job they did on
this show. The
egg hunt was a lot of fun.
Thanks for a great time.

brewery: We
had a very good attendance to this event. Thanks Joan and company for arranging this for us.
It was great fun.

Dixon Drag Races:
Not a bad day there was 36 or 37 cars.
SCCA
AutoX:
May 9th (Mother’s Day) We could use a
few more workers if you are willing to come out that day.
INNER
HARBOR
HAS BEEN CANCELED
DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST.
Summer
Cruise: Keith is good to go on this.

E-Town
Mini Grand Prix:
Carl has 25 workers so far.
If you are not planning to attend the H&H Show
and would like to help out here, contact Carl.
The
board approved for Dave to spend $250.00 for the food for
the hospitality room at the Pocono Driving School.

Bube's, or Charlestown,
please send them to him so he can put them on the web site.
